I have a 18 x 24 frame. Should I get 16×20 or 20×24 for this print?

It’s going to hang on the wall in our bedroom with some other black and white photos in black frames.
I thought it was a neat idea.
I just don’t know why it doesn’t come in normal frame sizes.
Actually, if your frame is 18″ x 24″ it would look best with the 11″ x 14″ size. Prints look best with a wide mat around them. For a professional and dramatic look you should center it with 3 1/2″ of mat space on either side, 4 1/2″ across the top and 5 1/2″ below. Prints should always be framed so they sit a little higher in the frame, not centered top to bottom because your eye will make them seem lower if you don’t do that. You can check which size would look best yourself by cutting out some pieces of newspaper in the sizes the print comes in and laying them on your frame to see the look. When you try to crowd too large of a print in a frame it looks cheap and awkward,
Look at all of the framed prints in a museum, art gallery or at http://www,art.com and you will see that they are usually mounted with a mat space between the print and the frame edge.
