Alternatives to paint on canvas, etc.?
I would like to return to painting, something I have not done since high school. Problem is that I have never bought my own supply, I contented myself to use the art materials for art class. I not much money to experiment, so I was wondering if anyone knew some cheaper alternatives for common hardware paint? Also, the canvas is too expensive, so what can I use acrylic paint on? Where can I get it and how can I prepare it for painting? I love the texture of a painting, if it makes a difference if your suggestions. What alternatives to paper color of water? Much questions, I know. Thank you in advance.
Here are some cheap alternatives … water based craft paints in small bottles are fun to work with and dries quickly. watch for paintings for sale. You can buy cheap brushes at any dollar store or liquidation outlet. you get more "inside", you can invest in better brushes, knives, palette for a suitable material painting on wood panels painted with I suggest white latex paint with low prices. (All my work is on wood, I am a sculptor sign … a lot of texture!)
