I’ve read how oil paints dry – but after painting is done – anything help drying- heat?sun?air flow?
I use water-mixable oils – still takes 6mos onward to dry them – Anything help it along?
They do not take 6 mos. to dry-they take 6 mos. to cure ( which means drying throughly) you can still paint layers while the last layer isnt cured yet- you just have to wait until it dry to the touch. since your using water mixable, it should take about 2-7 days to dry to the touch. depending on the pigment. as far as varnishing your painting when its finished- once you are happy with it and the paint is dry to the touch spray with one coat of varnish. after 6 mos. to a year, spray with two more final coats.
