What is the historical context of this artwork by Picasso” Les demoiselles”?
And can you tell me what kind of cubism he used? Because there are 2….(analytical-Synthetic)…Which one is it?….( Les demoselles is a painting of five naked prostitudes)
Les Demoiselles d’Avignon is an example of Synthetic Cubism. Synthetic Cubism grew out of Analytical Cubism and the experimental nature of Collage. Synthetic Cubism developed through a construction process rather than the analytical process and deconstruction of Analytical Cubism. It is also more decorative and appealing and somewhat easier to interpret.
Les Demoiselles d’Avignon is an excellent example of the Synthetic cubist movement. Picasso created over one hundred sketches and studies in preparation for this work, illustrating the constructive nature of Synthetic Cubism.
It’s considered a seminal work of the Synthetic Cubist movement. The painting can be interpreted as evidence of a transitional period in Picasso’s art, an effort to connect his earlier work to Cubism, this style he would help invent and develop over the next five or six years.

Artwork on daily mail today?
Today while reading the daily mail website today I saw some great artwork of famous people drawn in a pop art kind of style. Now that I want to show my boyfriend of course I can’t find the link anywhere.
I don’t know the name of the artist, but the features of the famous people were drawn with articles you’d associate with them, e.g. Elvis’ glasses looked like a guitar. Can anyone help me out with a link?
…forgot to mention that I saw it while in work and now I’m at home. I won’t be back at work until Monday and I figure the longer it takes, the less likely I am to find the article again. The Mail’s archive/search function is sh*t.

I got a rejection letter from American Greetings. What does it mean?
Recently, I sent some artwork to American Greetings with greeting card ideas. A month later, I got a rejection letter from them. This is a section of the letter noting the areas that need improvement:

The first part seems pretty straightforward, that the company has other greeting cards similar to the ideas that I sent. I wasn’t sure what “Consider working on cartoon panel” meant. Are they saying my artwork needs improvement? Or are they saying something else? Your feedback is appreciated!

Without seeing your artwork, I’d guess that illustrations felt more like cartoon/comic art to the critic, and they thought your aptitude (judging solely on the art you sent) might be there.
…. actually, that is a bit open-ended, isn’t it? Like they might be saying try doing a humorous cartoon panel greeting card and send that in, or that the person evaluating thought you had a knack for doing comic strips.
Huh.
Well, either way, I’m pretty sure the critic was looking for your strengths, not pointing out weakness.

What is my first vintage wines are my vampire worth?
This is the first vintage of wines vampire 1995. Merlot, Pinot Black, and Cabernet Sauvignon. I know that the labels were first vintage tape in the U.S. because of the art of the 15th century.
the wine itself is probably not worth any more than what you paid for it .. if it has not disappeared. Commercial worst wines sold in the U.S. do not age terribly well, and the cheaper wines are not permanently. Looks like Vampire wines are about $ 10 a bottle, and at this price point, it looks like any improvement with age. As for the bottles, which could be something to a collector, but I would just drink the wine.
