Another one of the most innovate ways to use self storage is for the business owner who is redesigning office space. Self storage allows the business owner to place equipment, important papers and everything else related to the business all in one convenient location. It can be traumatic enough to disrupt your work routines with removing everything from an office space but let’s face it, sometimes repairs and renovations are not an option but in response to mandatory requirements to bring your office up to code.
If you have to use self storage for your business while it is being remodeled or refurbished, make sure that you organize things in your storage unit in a logical manner. This means place large equipment like desks, computers, file cabinets and the like in the back of the unit out of the way because you are not going to be moving these items around within the unit and you don’t need to trip over them trying to get to documents or other small items.
For other items related to your business, try to categorize them in a logical order that makes sense to you and suits the needs of what you will be needing out of the self storage unit on a regular basis. For example, you may want to create aisles that you can walk up and down and on those aisles turn all labeled boxes the same way so that you do not have to circle the aisle around and around to find one particular box you’re looking for.
Another innovative way to use self storage is when you need climate controlled storage for perishable items such as fresh fruit and vegetables. In this scenario you can store your foods in a self storage unit that is set at a cool temperature that will keep them from becoming over ripe or wilting. A word to the wise is that climate controlled self storage should not be confused with cold storage, the latter of which is necessary for keep meat and other such products that require refrigeration.
No matter what your innovative idea may be, using self storage to help you keep things in a logical order can be the difference between being able to find an item you need for a customer or special event such as a holiday or birthday and having to try to find the money to purchase the item again because you can’t find the one you already have stored.
