How to make my own quote wall decal?
So iam moving into my own apartment pretty soon,Iam unable to paint my walls so i wanna use wall decals.Iam really interested in doing it myself I just need step by step instructions.I dont want a design i want something like quotes.I seen a threadbanger diy video i just wanna know how would i do that as a quote instead of a easy picture cutout.thanks
Buy colored contact paper, (can find at most craft stores or back to school section of some department stores as it is used for book covers). Contact paper won’t leave that sticky residue and you can remove it and reapply it if you really needed to, (not too many times, but maybe once or twice).
Then you can use stencils of letters and cut out your quote with an exacto knife/razor blade/box cutter. Exacto would probably be easiest. You could do this with ANY stencil or anything you want to print out, lettering, images, it’s pretty limitless.
EDIT: Contact paper is often used for drawer lining as well, so you may find it in the home improvement section, but the stuff in that section is usually in really awful floral patterns.

Is drawing realisim better then drawing cartoons?
So today I was in my Civics calss adn this girl who draws realism was holding these metallicy pencils and I asked her why. She told me they were “professional” supplies. I asked her why she wasted her money on those when she could just use Crayola’s? She told me because better artists use professional stuff and then basicly that my art was bad and hers was better. Okay now here’s the question; Is drawing realism really better then cartoons? (I’m better at drawing cartooons) And are professional tools even that good for amateur artists like us?
Remember ‘The Far Side’ cartoon drawn by Gary Larson? He retired at age 35 with over a hundred million dollars in the bank. He drew his cartoons on typing paper at his kitchen table with a #2 pencil for years. A REAL artist would never, ever put down someone else because of her/his tools or methods. Your classmate is a dink and she will die fat, unhappy, and broke amid a garage full of ‘realist’ art she couldn’t sell at a flea market. Professional tools are great — I have lots of them. The best tool you have is your imagination and talent so keep on drawing cartoons because everyone loves to laugh.
Best of luck.

what cleaner do you clean a silkscreen with?
I think when I went to art school we used mean green but I could be wrong. Does anyone remember? It could just be dish soap, but will that get the screen filler and ink drawing fluid off???
Depends on the emulsion you used. There are many kinds.
I remember my old Speedball silk screening kit recommended I use Mr. Clean to remove the filler.
